Jen sided with SDG&E in the debate over whether the City should create a public utility owned and operated by the City and residents of San Diego, which would reduce both residents’ energy costs and carbon emissions.
Admitted to violating the law, according to a prominent attorney, in order to secure the council presidency, a very powerful position that controls the issues heard by the council as well as committee assignments.
Jen has not introduced or supported any significant legislation that helps marginalized communities and has often been on the wrong side of critical votes for racial justice and equity. The Racial Justice Coalition of San Diego fully supports recalling Jen.
